The first thing that I always remember about Diablo is that creepy laugh at the setup screen after inserting the CD into the computer. It was Lord Diablo. It scares me and gives me nightmares when I was a kid. It was the first game that I played on the PC and the first RPG game that I played back in 1997. I played it again on my Playstation 1 but that version was not that good compared to the PC.

Before start playing, you have the option to choose one of the three character class in the game. Warrior, Rogue and Mage. One of these available classes have their own special skills. The Warrior, Rogue and Mage (from my point of view) specializes in sword fighting, archery and magic respectively. At the  same time, the three classes act as a difficulty for the game indirectly. Warrior (Easy), Rogue (Medium) and Mage (Hard). After choosing and naming your desired class, you will start at the town of Tristram.

The town acts as a place where you can buy and sell weapons, armors, scrolls, potions and other stuff. You can receive quests from the townspeople also. In the beginning, you have little gold and no quests to offer from the townspeople. Don’t worry, you can gain more gold by looting chests and killing random creatures or monsters that drops random stuff. The townspeople will offer you quests when you explore deeper in the dungeons or gain experience from fighting monsters. The town itself consist of many houses, few shops and a Cathedral. The Cathedral is the place where you will start the dungeon exploring part.

Before going to the dungeon, I suggest you buy a healing or a mana (if you are a mage) potion and a town portal scroll. The town portal is very important (for me) because you will have to go back to the town to replenish your supplies of potions and scrolls. If you are a lazy person and too lazy to go back to the town, I recommend you buy the town portal scroll. There are other types of potions and scrolls you can buy. For example, a potion that can heal hit points and regenerate mana at the same time. There are many weapons and armors in the game which is too many.

The main objective of the game is to make your way through the 16 dungeons below the Cathedral and kill Lord Diablo. Don’t know the story though, you’ll going to have to look up at Wikipedia or it’s website. You will get to explore each levels of large dungeons infested with monsters and chests filled with gold. At the start of the dungeon, the monsters are pretty weak and easy to kill. Later in the game, the monsters are beginning to get stronger and harder to kill. There are three types of monsters you can encounter in the game which is Animals, Demons and Undead. Each of these types have their own monsters and have their own statistics.

There are bosses in the game including Lord Diablo himself. There are mini bosses also. Honestly, I don’t know how many because I didn’t make it far in the game. I only remember two bosses only. The first one is some kind of a butcher. The second one is a skeleton with a size of a giant. I never get to killed them back then because I got too scared.

Overall, the game is good and fun to play. I have to say this is my least favorite of the Diablo series. My favorite one is Diablo II. Right now, I’m still waiting for Diablo III to release. I hope the developers did a good job on the game. After all, it was Blizzard Entertainment right? The company who made the (what I like to call) the Craft universe. Starcraft, Warcraft, and World of Warcraft. Anyway, that’s about it for Diablo. Hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas celebration (even though I didn’t celebrate it) and a Happy New Year. Now, I’m going to continue play Fallout: New Vegas.

About me?

My name’s not important but you can call me “Norddsam”. I know, it’s a weird name I come up with. I’m still in my teen years. I’ve got a life, family and things that I care a lot. I’ve recently finished high school and got a lot of free time. During my free time, I always play video games, improve my drawing skills and other personal stuff that I do which is too many for me to write down.

This blog?

Well, this blog is just about me and something related to video games, computer, technology and other random stuff. Honestly, I created this blog just for fun.

About gaming?

Right now, I have a few games that I actually play. Back then, I have hundreds of them.

Gaming platform?

I only have a PC now. Before that, I have a Gameboy, Playstation 1, Playstation 2 and Xbox 360.

That’s about it actually. Just so you guys know a little about me and what is the purpose of me creating this blog. I will continue to update this blog when I have the chance. If it doesn’t, that means I’ve got a life to take care of or don’t have an idea yet.
